Latest Imperative Informatics (Africa) News
The emergence of Apple’s iPad and other tablets are fast becoming tools of choice for many private and business citizens. International purchasing trends give strong indication to this fact, and without doubt, South Africa & Africa will follow.
As organizations seek to improve externalized processes and remove customer interaction bottlenecks, these mobile devices will become mainstream: a valued part of business and social life. However, many of the applications on these devices remain standalone without any real-time integration possible into existing back-office information systems. BOoOM v1.2, just released, will address these shortcomings by offering a new rich iPad client, tightly integrated into the existing BOoOM application suite. BOoOM’s design philosophy, which is to remain information-system-connect agnostic, remains firmly in place.
Remote Workers in Sales, Logistics, Consulting, Services, and Management are able to securely access vital data maintained in existing system investments, which in-turn is integrated with the BOoOM Local Host application. The BOoOM Local Host will securely manage bi-directional information services between the Remote Worker, using their tablet, and their organization’s existing data capital.
The new tablet app follows on from the current mobile-phone agnostic support offered by BOoOM, and will also provide additional rich functions typically associated with tablet capability.
